When I see dark objects, moving or otherwise, I believe these are demonic and to be shunned and avoided. With normal aging, the vitreous becomes less firm. If you suddenly notice spots, floaters and flashes of light, you may be experiencing the warning signs of a detached retina. Quite distinct from floaters and is described as static all across your visual field, although floaters can also be a symptom along with other things. I hope this sheds some light on the subject (no pun intended). Just as light reflects off mirrors to help people see themselves, faithful people can engage in spiritual reflection to see the state of their souls, motivating them to seek more. These are very common, and while potentially annoying, they are usually not a cause for concern. Seeing black spots in their vision is one of these. Seeing spots or floaters is usually a symptom of harmless shrinkage and protein clumping occurring in the vitreous, the gel-like substance in the back of the eye. Light has significant spiritual meanings associated with both angels and miracles. It seems that all most shadow people and entities can do is scare you. Seeing a butterfly fills you with hope and positivity. ![]() When seen perfectly, it is a halo of golden light surrounding a field of deep blue, in the center of which is a silvery . Whether it’s to confirm your good health or guide you through a treatment process, our specialists and dedicated staff at Eye Associates of Tallahassee are here to help you with all of your eye care needs. Some people see blue spots as they age, as the collagen in their vitreous humor loosens, accumulates there and floats in front of the retina, causing visual disturbances, according to WebMD. Either everything is fine and you get to go home with a clean bill of health and renewed peace of mind or you catch a small issue before it becomes a big problem. Getting a yearly eye exam is a win-win situation. Noticing that it is having a visible effect on their eyes may help some people make a necessary transition. Even though it has the chance of leading to deadly problems like a heart attack, it does not carry the urgency people need to feel in order to make drastic lifestyle changes. High cholesterol is one of those problems people are often hesitant to address. Plaque in a person’s retinal blood vessels is also a sign that they suffer from high cholesterol. Diabetes, if left unmanaged, can lead to kidney failure or blindness among other devastating consequences.Ī yellowish appearance around the corneas is a possible sign of high cholesterol. If the patient is undiagnosed, this eye exam would give them the vital information they need about their body to be proactive about their health and well-being. ![]() An eye doctor would notice this during an eye exam and know the root cause. They can also detect any built-up pressure and start treating you to prevent permanent damage.īlood vessels in the eye can leak fluids or blood if a person has diabetes. Regular eye exams allow your doctor to check for any damage to the optic nerve. ![]() The difficulty is that this pressure rarely results in any noticeable symptoms like pain or discomfort, meaning a person may not be aware they have glaucoma until their vision has regressed past the point of no return. The main – but not only – cause of glaucoma is built up pressure called intraocular pressure. If left untreated, the damage can become so extensive that it is impossible to save a person’s vision. Vision problems are caused by damage to the optic nerve. Glaucoma is another tricky eye disease that can lead to blindness despite a lack of symptoms. If your ophthalmologist catches the problem when it is only a tear, they can address the problem with a simpler procedure as opposed to the more complicated work needed to fix a detachment. An ophthalmologist can take a look at your eye and determine whether there are any tears. As a result, it is hard to just “feel” or “know” that there is a problem with your retina. Tears can go unnoticed until the retina detaches. Retinal tears typically precede retinal detachments, but aside from floaters, there are no serious symptoms that accompany tears. If they are not treated immediately, retinal detachments can result in permanent blindness. What’s even more interesting is that going in for your yearly eye exam can detect other physical conditions in addition to eye issues.Ī retinal detachment can be catastrophic if ignored. It’s a shame considering regular eye exams can help detect a number of devastating health conditions, many of which are treatable if found early. It’s widely accepted that going in for your yearly physical is crucial for detecting serious problems, but many people fail to apply this mentality to their yearly eye exam.

Furthermore, 922 could enhance chaperone-mediated autophagy (CMA) activity and promote the association between HSP/HSC70 and IGF-1Rβ or LAMP2A in coimmunoprecipitation and immunofluorescence analyses. However, knockdown of the crucial autophagy component AGT5 and the chemical inhibitor 3 MA-blocked 922-induced autophagy did not abrogate 922-triggered IGF-1Rβ degradation. Interestingly, 922 induced autophagic flux by increasing LC3II expression and puncta formation. These results might be associated with the inhibition of pancreatic cellular chymotrypsin–peptidase activity by 922 for 24 h. Preincubation with a proteasome or lysosome inhibitor (MG132, 3 MA or CQ) mainly led to IGF-1Rβ degradation via the lysosome degradation pathway, rather than the proteasome-dependent pathway, after PC cells were treated with 922 for 24 h. We found that the HSP90α inhibitor NVP-AUY922 (922) effectively downregulated and destabilized the IGF-1Rβ protein, substantially reduced the levels of downstream signaling molecules (p-AKT, AKT and p-ERK1/2), and resulted in growth inhibition and apoptosis in IGF-1Rβ-overexpressing PC cells. However, very little is known about how IGF-IR protein levels are degraded by HSP90 inhibitors in pancreatic cancer (PC). Enhancement of insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF-IR) degradation by heat shock protein 90 (HSP90) inhibitor is a potential antitumor therapeutic strategy. ![]()

See Sellon 2004 for the evaluations of change from a central bank and policy implementation perspective. Sauvy 1969 serves as a predecessor focusing on the economic and sociological outcomes of demography. Weiner 1971 serves as the definitive study in the field with Weiner and Teitelbaum 2001 offering a synopsis of the modern complexities and moving to considerations of migration, nationalism, and the interconnections between demography as destiny or as dynamic variable malleable by politics. Teitelbaum and Winter 1998 uses a series of case studies as a means to connect policy choice concerning migration to national futures. 1984 is an early attempt to create empirical tests between measurements of politics and demographic change. The modern link between policy and demography in the 20th century was established in large part by Carr-Saunders 1936 evaluating demographical shifts and the possibilities of war in the interwar period. Its trans-disciplinary nature creates the possibility of isolation within predominantly social science disciplines, which in turn limits cross-discipline publication or shared research projects. ![]() Having established the roots of much of the current work, it moves to key concerns in the present and for the future of the field: there is a special section on the scale and complexity of the Chinese demographical case, the conditions shaping women’s rights, the consequences of aging populations, the potential of the demographic dividend (economic growth from a young population) and potentially dynamic changes connected to youth bulges (political consequences of a young population), issues of demographic recovery after war, migration, immigration, religious change, and lastly, a overview of the possibilities and future of available data.Ī common criticism within the field of political demography is the lack of a standardized methodological structure or shared literature canon. From there, it gives a history of the field’s development, including the formation of its scholarship on economic development, modern development with the demographic transition, the basis of eugenics arguments, the substantial aftereffects (both policy and disciplinary) of those arguments, and the rise and fall of neo-Malthusian theory. Such is the field of political demography, and this bibliography will focus on a selection of major topics starting with a general overview along with a discussion of literature on global political and security considerations. Integrated into this mix is a strong emphasis on economics and sociology in general. Although it is not always acknowledged as such, politics is intrinsically interconnected with the demographic mix of its topics of study. From demography, it draws upon the dynamic changes in the basic foundations of human societies: that is, existence itself, the future scale of population, and the location of life. 567) It is then a trans- disciplinary field. It is concerned with the political consequences of population change, especially the effects of population change on the demands made upon governments, on the performance of governments, and on the distribution of political power.” (p. Weiner 1971 explains that “political demography is the study of the size, composition, and distribution of population in relation to both government and politics. Unlike the general discipline of demography, the field is not focused on the creation of demographic measurements or the refining of estimations political demography concerns itself with the broad consequences on attitudes and structure, both individual and political, from the policy choice to attempt to manipulate demography, the aftereffects of its change, and the determinist characteristic of population itself. ![]() Political demography is the study of the interconnection between economics, policy, and population. ![]() Qobuz 24-bit hi-res streaming is now available on Sonos in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, UK, and the US. That's how I know all the zeroes are done being processed and I can start the main loop over. So instead, I continue the mod function until the digit equals 10, which lets me know the loop is stuck repeating (since a digit cannot be 10). My favorite mechanism is the check to determine if the number is done being processed I can't just check if the A mod B is 0 because of the example case "300" the two zeroes would not be outputted. Luckily, the 0, 10, and 100 on the board were placed near the 10th index, which allowed me me to take advantage of referencing them by index.Ī key optimization was reusing the zero from the final state in order to reset the board, and another was using the bumped 0 in order to include mod 1 in the main loop (yes, after mod 10, the 1s column is already discovered, but to eliminate the need for special checks, I just redundantly mod 1 as well ). Instead, I abstracted the modulus operation into a generic "function" that relies on indirection to mod 100, mod 10, and mod 1. The goal for this solution was to eliminate the need to have two loops to check for the 100s place and 10s place.
